Although holidays are a great opportunity to spend time with family and friends, it can also mean that due to the hustle and bustle of Christmas, you tend to overlook your health. Here are some tips to help you stay healthy during the December Holidays.
Maintain your weight – It is not a good idea to reduce your weight during the holiday season, as this will mean that you will not be able to enjoy the season fully. Instead look at maintaining your weight, by exercising and concentrating on eating meals that you truly enjoy.
Keep active – Often during the holidays, you will find it difficult to make it to the gym or your morning workout class. Instead look at walking as much as you can during the season. Look at leaving the car at home and consider taking public transport, which will burn more calories.
Do not skip meals – Avoid skipping meals to reduce calories for an event. Skipping a meal will only mean that you end up at your event ravenous and force you to eat more calories than you otherwise would have. Look at eating a healthy meal before an event and avoid unnecessary calories that come in the form of chips, nuts, crackers, and cocktails before your main meal.
Pack a snack – A high protein snack will help you curb your hunger and stay full for longer. Look at convenient snacks like almonds, beef jerky, protein bars, string cheese, yogurt, boiled eggs and a small jug of chocolate milk.
